KoamTac Adds Power of RFID to Its Premier Line of Miniature Bluetooth Barcode Scanners for Smartphones and Tablets with the Introduction of the KDC450

PRINCETON, NJ– July 8, 2013- KoamTac, Inc., is proud to announce the KDC450 with RFID as the newest addition to its premier suite of linear and 2-dimensional image-based Bluetooth barcode scanners and card readers made for smartphones and tablets. KOAMTAC KDC450 SmartSled with Barcode Scanner

“RFID is bringing exciting changes across industries worldwide by speeding up identification and tracking and simplifying business processes,” said Dr. Hanjin Lee, KoamTac’s CEO and president. “The integration of RFID technology into our uniquely programmable KDC product line gives companies yet another powerful solution to
reduce labor cost, save time and serve customers better.”

RFID tags are widely used in identification badges and contactless payment cards; they’ve proven effective in warehouse and inventory management systems, logistics and transportation, the medical industry, libraries, schools, universities and museums – any application for which non-line-of-sight data collection speeds workflow or transactions.

The KDC450 is the sixth model in the KDC400 line of smart sleds designed to work with easy-to-change smartphone and tablet cases. The KDC450’s RFID reader supports virtually any ISO/IEC 14443 A or B compliant smartcard, ISO/IEC 15693 compliant RFID label, or NFC device (ISO/IEC 18092 / 21481) running in card emulation mode. Just add your smart mobile device and pair with Bluetooth to create a complete data collection system. The KDC450 even comes standard with a charging cradle.

“Our KDCs have proven to be indispensable to many industries across the globe as enterprise customers increasingly choose the ease-of-use and familiar interfaces of today’s ubiquitous smartphones and tablets. The KDC450 with RFID simply opens up even more flexibility for way the world collects and stores information,” said Dr. Lee.
