Latest KDC180 Wearable Rugged Scanner from KOAMTAC Reads Barcodes and RFID Tags Hands-Free

The IP65-Rated and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 KDC180 was designed for wearing as a Ring Scanner or Finger Trigger Glove. Model options include a 2D Barcode Scanner, 0.5W UHF Reader, keypad, and wireless charging.

September 10, 2019, Princeton, NJKOAMTAC®, Inc., ., a leading manufacturer of Bluetooth companion barcode scanners, barcode and RFID Sleds, mPOS solutions, and smartphone/tablet charging solutions has announced the innovative wearable barcode scanner and RFID reader, the KDC180, complete KDC180 Wearable Barcode Scanner RFID Reader by KOAMTAC RFID Ring Scannerwith 1” display, field replaceable battery, and various options such as inductive charging and a keypad.

The KDC180 is the companion Bluetooth scanner and RFID reader designed as a wearable device which can be configured as either a two-finger Ring Scanner or Finger Trigger Glove scanner for maximum compatibility and ergonomics. The KDC180 clips securely into  the Glove and can be unclipped quickly and easily for sanitation or safety purposes. The two-finger ring band can be replaced quickly and easily to eliminate the need for sharing between employees ensuring comfortability as the ring band is personalized to an employees’ preferences.

All KDC180 models feature a 2D Barcode scanner able to read all common 1D or 2D barcode symbologies. Additional options include inductive charging, a keypad for manual entries and advanced data collection applications, and a 0.5W UHF RFID Reader.

Data is transferred from the KDC180 to a host smartphone, tablet, glasses, or watch via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 ensuring the transmission is both fast and secure. This connection allows for a fully hands-free solution especially useful in warehouses for picking operations or out in the field for service.
