The Magnetic Universal Adaptor (MUA) adds KDC SmartSled® barcode scanning and RFID to compatible smartphones through fast, magnetic attachment—no Custom Case or permanent modification required. Quick to install and remove, it’s ideal for shared devices and flexible use.
The MUA attaches magnetically to compatible phone cases or directly to supported smartphones, eliminating the need to drill or screw into a case for semi-permanent attachment. It also removes the need for a KOAMTAC custom case, allowing fast attachment and removal of KDC1000, KDC1100, or KDC1200 SmartSled scanners to minimize downtime.
Available in two form factors, the Flat MUA (FMAU) is designed for handheld SmartSled use, while the Angled MUA (AMUA) improves balance and ergonomics when used with a 1.0W UHF Reader Companion or Pistol Grip. Both designs preserve a clear view of the phone’s built-in camera for software-based scanning.
Setup is fast with BLE pairing via an integrated pairing barcode or NFC tap-to-connect. The MUA is compatible with KOAMTAC 1-slot and 5-slot KDC1000/1100/1200 charging cradles, allowing devices to be docked and charged without removing the adaptor.
